First Letter to Liam

Dear Liam,

You are getting so big, so quickly! I am amazed by how much you grow and change every single day. I remember the doctor handing you to me and how much love I felt instantly and now you're already starting to learn to do things on your own. Being your mommy these past 5 months have meant more to me than anything in my 24 years of life so far. I still look at you and wonder how your father and I made someone so absolutely perfect. There are so many precious memories I will never forget... the smile you flash when you first wake up in the morning and see me, the little sighs you make while you're feeding, your little laugh. It doesn't matter what is going on or how bad my day is, all I need is your little smile and some snuggle time with you and I feel like queen of the world. I am so blessed you came into my life, you are the biggest gift and you mean more to me than you will ever know. I am looking forward to so many things coming up, your first holiday season (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), the first time you crawl, the first time you speak. I just want to pause time and savor every minute, but I want to see you grow into a wonderful little boy and hear you tell me you love me. I strive everyday to be the best mommy for you. I will always be there for you and you will always be able to come to me with anything and count on me to be your number one fan. If I could give you anything in the universe, I would. You are my whole world. I love you, Liam Michael, with everything I am and more.

Love you always,
The Luckiest Mommy Alive (Yours)

You've Got A Friend In Me

Liam sure has a new friend! Today we got to meet baby Hannah Mae Livingston, who is such a doll! They took to each other right away, it was so adorable. It was also very nice for me to converse with another mommy who is at the same point in her life and knows what I am going through. Another good thing is everyone has a different way of raising babies and it is nice to exchange ideas and give each other advice. One of the things that Hannah uses is a transition "cup" from bottle to sippy cup. They are small, with handles and are easy for little ones to hold. They are called Grip-n-sip™ Cups from http://www.nuby.com/en/Products/ and look like this:

So, I think mommy is going to need to pick some of those up and maybe Liam will drink some juice. Maybe. Babies are too cute. Hannah was completely enthralled with one of Liam's toys:

Its a little finger puppet that "flies" and makes noise. I would like to get her one, but I honestly don't even know where it came from or where to pick one up. So I am on a mission to find one! Anyway, we are supposed to get together next week and I have to say I can't wait. Its nice to have playdates! So here are some of the pictures from the evening!

Cries, Squeals and Mommy Woes

Liam has all of a sudden decided to start "rolling his r's" while crying. I don't know where it came from, but he just picked it up and now does it every time he throws a fit. He got mad at me and started really crying the first time I heard him do it because I couldn't help but laugh. It is the most adorable thing.

He is also becoming much more active when set free to roam. He hasn't started crawling, but he can cover some major ground with his rolling and scooting now. I can't believe how big he is getting so quickly. He is more interactive now and loves making people pay attention to him. He's so cute I could just eat him up.

Ok, so mommy's heartbreaker for the week: the move to the crib. Liam has been sleeping in mommy's bed pretty much since birth. Now, I know there are a lot of people who are completely against cosleeping, but being a single mom and the only one who wakes up at night, it has worked for us. It was easier to just roll over in the night time and breastfeed, and I loved having him close. I noticed within the last month that he has really started to roll and I knew I would have to move him, but it has come up sooner than I expected. Today during our morning nap, Liam woke up and rolled right off the bed. Of course, he is okay. I gave him Tylonel and held him while he cried (all of like 60 seconds), but it almost killed me. Needless to say, it is time for the move, no matter how sad it makes me. So, today we went and got a monitor, so I can make sure I hear him. I know it is the right thing to do for him, but I really just wanted to say screw it and get the guard rail, BUT I decided against it. I am sure it is going to be harder for me than him to adjust, considering the doctor says I shouldn't even be doing night feedings anymore. But that brings me to another topic, weening the breastfeeding. Now that he is starting solids and almost 6 months, I think it is time to start weening the breastfeeding, so mommy can have a little more freedom too. I am so scared of how much it is going to hurt, though, so I can't bring myself to start either. I figure, there is no immediate rush, but it is something I should start thinking about. Sometimes being a mommy is tough, but it is so worth every minute and gray hair (which mommy sure has an abundance of now).

I will leave you with a few pictures from football Sunday for this Cardinals fan.

I am just gonna tease you with this smirk, Mom.

Hrmmm, come on guys, what was that?

What is in there because I know it aint gametime chips and dip...

Really mom? You expect me to like this stuff?

Costume Choices

Ok, so I am probably making a big deal out of something I shouldn't since Liam can't trick or treat or partake in most of the Halloween festivities, however it is his first Halloween!! Next weekend we are going to the pumpkin patch to have a nice day and pick out a pumpkin to carve! Now onto the problem at hand, I can't decide what Liam's very first costume should be!! I know I don't want it to be the same ol' baby costumes, but it is too late for this unartistic mom to make one. There are a couple of choices from Spirit Halloween and Party City, and Liam would look so stinkin' cute in all of them, so it's a tough choice. It won't allow me to save the pictures and post them, but here are the links.

Happy Birthday Susan Pham!

Mommy got to go out to celebrate one of her best friends Susan Pham's birthday! She's a great friend and has always been there for me. It was nice to get out even though clubbing isn't really my scene anymore! Just a few snapshots from the night.

First Time Eating Rice Cereal!

Let me just say I cannot believe my son is already big enough to start eating solids. I don't know where the time goes, but it is flying! Well for some reason both of my pumps decided to not work today and I had no breastmilk in the freezer, so I had to mix the cereal with formula. Liam despises formula. The child won't eat anything but breastmilk, not even the four different kinds of juice I have gotten him. So I knew this probably wasn't going to go well from the start. Well he ended up getting most of it everywhere, but I think he got some of it down and he didn't wail, so needless to say, I think it went pretty well! We will just have to try again tomorrow!

I wouldn't want to eat it either, yuck!

Before...All Clean

First spoonful, "What is this, Mommy?"

Hrmmm

I don't know what to think of this stuff

Just gimme the bowl, I wanna play!

Getting distracted....

Of course, Fawna wanted to be part of the action too

Officially a cute mess...

A Trip To Visit The Grandparents

**WARNING-LOADED W/ PICTURES** It was so nice to get away, out of the heat and stress. My parents love having us around, well Liam anyway. It's important to me that he forms a bond with his grandpa, even though he sees him less because he doesn't like to come down to Phoenix in the summer. Liam had a very busy and fun filled time. We went to lunch at Red Devil and did a little shopping. And of course there was some relaxing on the couch and napping with his favorite blue dog. Grandma says gotta have naptime in Show Low. Mommy forgot Liam's bath seat, so we had to use the bumpo. We got to take a stroll around Fool's Hollow Lake with Joel and Grammy. It was beautiful out and I got some really good pictures. We also spent a lot of time on my parents' deck, enjoying the quiet and the view and the nice weather. Everyone had to hang out, including Fawna, Anakin, Girl and Bit. Mommy also had a great idea to have a campfire and roast marshmellows. Liam had a great time staying up late and I stuffed my face with marshmellows. Grandpa thought it was funny that Liam liked his beer bottle. It was a relaxing night. We had an awesome time and I can't wait to get back up there again soon! And just a little video to see you off :-)
